Welcome to Hooka Tooka

144 / May 2022 / Joe Choi

Happy Spring Burnmixers!  The weather is letting up, and even though COVID won’t stay the F down, it’s been nice to see folks back in the office, at conferences and back in the cities.  We were in NYC for the kids’ spring break and got to check out Little Island (cover photo).  While it’s truly is an architectural marvel, I couldn’t help feeling guilty being there.  Having had a bit part in the construction, I know it cost a quarter of a billion dollars to build it and required the state and city to bail out the project for almost half of it.  As with most things since Trump, the pandemic, whatever’s going on with social media and now war, lots of things just seem somewhat of a ruse.  As much as there’s is to feel grateful for, there’s a lot of uncertainty out there, and I can’t stop wondering how great it would’ve been to FEEL THE BERN for a while!  Anyway, these are the collection of the songs that came together over the past year, and I hope there’s something you enjoy.
