D.I.Y. Ray

153 / February 2023 / Joe Choi

Been chasing that do-it-yourself shoegaze sound for a while now.  With all the music the young’uns are churning out from their laptops these days, my burnmix song bin has been flush in low-fi slowjams.  Much of that music made its way into the ‘like’ bin on my drives to the Cape for work.  These longer trips have kind of become my oasis from the regular noise of the office/home-office/boys.  At the end of the Cape Cod rainbow I ran into this gem of ingenuity (see cover art) and figured it fit the bill for this collection of songs that have a homemade feel.   Hope everyone is doing well and if you’re ever in Woods Hole look out for D.I.Y. Ray!
