Can You Spring For Me

155 / April 2023 / Kristin Kelly

EACH YEAR

I snap the twig to try to trap
the springing and I relearn the same lesson.
You cannot make a keepsake of this season.
Your heart's not the source of that sort of sap,
lacks what it takes to fuel, rejects the graft,
though for a moment it's your guilty fist
that's flowering. You're no good host to this
extremity that points now, broken, back at
the dirt as if to ask are we there yet.
You flatter this small turn tip of a larger
book of matches that can't refuse its end,
re-fuse itself, un-flare. Sure. Now forget
again. Here's a new green vein, another
clutch to take, give, a handful of seconds.

  3. yes/and / In My Heaven All Faucets Are Fountains

I'm not one for very many instrumental songs, but this is a 1.5 minute little gem that somehow fit right here nicely. Definitely indie-movie vibe.

  4. Indigo De Souza / Boys

Pool song, with a little whiskey and some reckless boys...

Sorry, There is no page on Last.FM for that artist. You may have mispelled their name, or it just doesn't exist.

  5. Adrianne Lenker, Buck Meek / Miss Misty

It's not Big Thief, but it is? I'm excited to see them at The Pines. I obsessively listen to her, but Buck as lead gives it a different feel. Highly recommend their Tiny Desk sessions, if not to just watch him play guitar. He's almost epileptic when he plays.
