This is one of the best descriptions of the feeling of both wanting to go back to your own sense of self and surrendering to the love that keeps you from it. This has been one of my favorite songs all summer. I spent a good amount of time trying to understand the lyrics. Any discussion is welcome! Managed to not know this track until recently. I was introduced to Portishead back in 1997 by a street artist who gave me his walkman and a tape of theirs just because we had a brief conversation. I don't know why I stopped to talk with him, but I will never forget that it left me with a new favorite artist and an old school device, and a memory of his random generosity.
