Super Bloom

81 / February 2017 / Saunders Robinson

The title of this album references Death Valley's Super Bloom last year. I recently read about it in this New Yorker article, which explains why its name is a misnomer. Death Valley is actually teeming with life, with pup fish that have lived in pockets of hot water since the Ice Age and seeds just waiting to burst through its Mars-like surface.
